Dr. Gregory Alan Thornbury, Ph.D.

President of The King’s College

Sixth President of The King’s College in New York City, Gregory Alan Thornbury, Ph.D seeks to prepare leaders for strategic institutions in society through courses of study in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, Business, Finance, and Media, Culture, and the Arts. He previously held the post of Professor of Philosophy, Dean of the School of Theology, and Vice President for Spiritual Life at Union University. He will be bringing his academic perspective to the roundtable for the discussion to explore with the other participants what societal good will emerge from the use of digital currency.

The Honorable Edmund C. Moy

Former Director of the U.S. Mint

As the 38th Director of the U.S. Mint, Moy has unique experience with the Federal Reserve, U.S. Department of the Treasury, The White House, and Congress and is also a frequent commentator to national and international financial media outlets on currencies, fiscal and monetary policy, Bitcoin, and gold. For the roundtable he will not only bring perspective on government and regulation around currency, payment systems, and monetary policy, but also his thoughts on how digital currency will impact the future.

Alex Waters

CEO and Founder of Coin.co

Alex has been involved in the Bitcoin ecosystem since the beginning. With a background in programming and management, he has worked on Bitcoin with core dev, was CIO at Bitinstant, and is currently CEO of Coin.co, a payments company in NYC. As a programmer and tech startup entrepreneur, his understanding of the technology will contribute to the discussion of how far digital currency can perpetuate good throughout society.
